The next goal will increase every jar from 8 dice included to 14 dice included! Wow You will have all the dice needed to cast Fireball at 9th level!

Stretch Goals here we come!
over 3 years ago – Thu, Oct 15, 2020 at 08:02:03 PM

Thank you everyone. Looks like we funded. WooHoo!

Now it's time to get you all more free stuff with our stretch goals.

1st

At $8,500 we will be doing FREE delivery in the United States or crediting $5 towards shipping costs everywhere else. This is a great way to keep your overall cost down.

2nd

At $9,500 instead of 8d6's...each Fireball Dice Jar will come with all 14d6's. Yes, 6 more FREE dice!

3rd

At only $500 more ($10,000) we will laser engrave a dragon on the top of each cork lid and put some of the Fireball details on the bottom. This allows quick and easy reference to the important details, like how many damage dice per spell level.

Help spread the word about this project and let's get these freebies to everyone.

Thank you for all your support!

Alternative Jars, Dice and Shipping (oh my!)
over 3 years ago – Thu, Oct 15, 2020 at 07:17:17 PM

First off, a huge thank you to all our backers and supporters! Without you, none of this would be possible, much less fun! We're so close to hitting our goal I can taste it and maybe the below will make you as excited as I am to increase your pledges. ;)

This is the first update I've posted (Dusty had been handling to date) and I wanted to cover a few things.

Alternative Jars

When we launched this campaign we were thinking of having alternative themed jars for different damage types. I've been working with the company that will be doing our hydrodipping about doing some alternative "skins".  So I have some happy news to announce.

Still waiting to lock down the details but here are some ideas we're thinking of for alternative jars.

We'll need to do some testing to make sure they look awesome once they are wrapped around the dice jar and I am not sure we'll be able to afford do all six as there are minimum quantities we need to buy. We may also come up with some different skins we like more. I plan on locking this down a few days to a week before the campaign ends.

Dice

In addition to the alternative jars, I have some ideas for some cool Ice themed dice, just waiting to see if our budget will allow it. If we raise enough, that problem goes away obviously. I'd actually love to do some that are themed for each jar we end up offering.

Some of you have asked whether additional dice will be available. Yes! During our last Kickstarter campaign for the healing potion jars we had some 7 dice sets available as well as some red d4s. For this one, we were initially planning on having d6s in the fire theme available, then we also decided to also add d20s (because you can never have enough of those - especially when some of them are being "bad" on game night. :))

The alternative jars got me to thinking that we could be way more flexible with the spells we support if we also offer loose d4, d6, d8, d10, and d12 in colors that fit with the theme of the jars. So at a minimum we will do that with the "fire" dice but also with any alternatives we come up with.

Shipping

Lastly a couple comments on shipping. First I want to apologize for any confusion there's been.

Dusty originally set up this campaign and when he did, he misunderstood how shipping worked in Kickstarter. So he put a guesstimate number in for both domestic and international shipping thinking it didn't matter. The international costs ended up being too high however, for example, we can ship one jar to most countries for around $12-15, not $30. Unfortunately, Kickstarter does not let you change shipping rates once a reward has received any pledges.

In our last campaign we handled shipping after the campaign closed, and I think doing that again is the cleanest way to handle this.  So I will be creating new rewards that mirror the existing ones, but without shipping included. You could either then change to the new reward item and pay shipping later when we start fulfillment on Backerkit or just leave it as is and the total pledged would show up as a credit that could be used towards shipping and for add-on items. Again, my apologies for not addressing this sooner.

One last comment on shipping. We will always charge shipping at a rate that is as close to our actual cost as possible/practical.  It is not something we're interested in profiting from, nor do we.

Let Us Know What You Think

I'd love to know your thoughts on the alternative jars and dice, either in the comments or you can email us at [email protected]. Are these something we should definitely pursue? Let us know.

Almost there!
