Happy New Year to you all! I hope you and your loved ones are all in good health and ready for 2021!
I had meant to post this before New Years, but got pulled away for some family things and never got back to finishing writing it until now... Anyway, some updates.
The Jars left the factory on 12/14/20. They are currently still on a ship somewhere in the Pacific, and I do not have an easy way of tracking them until they reach the port, clear customs and are handed off to UPS. I do have the UPS tracking numbers for the shipment, but that will not show me any expected delivery until they have custody of the items. As Dusty mentioned in our last update, when they arrive we'll need to open them all up, remove the corks, get those lasered and returned. The laser is owned by one of the partners in this adventure so I don't expect any delays there, it's just the time to create the jig so we can do multiple corks, then load them, laser them, repeat. Probably a couple of days after the jars arrive.
The dice were to be ready to ship about the same time, but upon inspection, there were some unacceptable quality issues. So those were rejected and had to be remade. That work has been completed, and the dice shipped on Dec 28th. This is way later than I'd hoped, but at least they are finally on the way. I have the UPS tracking number for these as well, which will be updated as soon as they arrive in country.
From the picture they sent, I believe they did not follow our instructions to bag the d6 in sets of 14 as we specified. They look like bricks of 50 or more. So we'll have to do that ourselves when they arrive. They may have changed that after the picture was sent. In any case, I didn't want to delay shipment any longer than it was already and this is an issue we can deal with pretty easily here.
Healing Potion Jars
For those of you who ordered Healing Potion Jars as add-ons, we have enough in stock for almost all of them already. We've also received the materials needed for Dusty to make more inventory, so those will be ready to go. We had plenty of extra dice on hand for these already too.
Getting Prepared for Shipping, Locking Orders, and Charging Cards
I've been busy getting the logistics for shipping ready to go once we have received all of the products. This includes figuring out box sizes for our order mix, and setting up a process for picking/packing/shipping etc. A huge thank you to those that have completed their surveys (all but 22 of you). If you have not yet done so, please do, otherwise, your order won't be processed until after those who have already done so are shipped.
I have delayed locking orders on Backerkit due to our product delays. I am going to lock existing orders in one week. (1/7/2020) You will receive an email approximately a day before that happens. Feel free to make any changes until the order is locked, and please make sure your shipping address is up to date if it has changed recently.
Once we have received product and are ready to ship, I will charge any remaining balances (credit cards) and we will get things out the door as quickly as we can. Once your package has been shipped, you will receive an email with tracking information for your order.
That's about it for now. Feel free to reach out with any questions. I can't give you all a solid date that wouldn't be a guess for when we'll have all of this complete, but will definitely let you know as soon as I have the information to do so (ex: the minute I get a delivery date from UPS). I do sincerely apologize for not hitting our shipping date. 2020 was a weird year in a lot of ways, and I've not seen product and shipping delays like this from the suppliers we've worked with in the past... Hopefully it's not a new normal.

It is with a heavy heart that I must inform you, your shipment will not be able to be done this month.
We knew this goal was ambitus and would need all the dominos to fall correctly. We even submitted material orders prior to getting the funds from Kickstarter to help ensure this. Unfortunately, our partners that are applying the fireball flames still have not shipped the product.
They are now estimating shipping to happen this next week. However, with the delays that we already see in the shipping ports, it is extremely (near impossible) for them to arrive in time. Once they do, we still need to open every box and remove every cork lid. Then have them lasered and retuned to each jar. At that point we will be able to sort orders and ship.
We apologize to those of you who got these as gifts for others. We were trying all we could to make this happen. If you would like, let us know, we can try and create some sort of printable image you can wrap and present as an IOU. We do promise to deliver, as we did with our previous Kickstarter.
Thank you again for all your support and understanding.

Happy Friday All! (if it is still Friday where you are)
I am happy to report that we had a good response rate from our test group on Backerkit and no problems reported as of yet, so I have gone ahead and sent survey invites to the rest of you.
If you do not receive your Backerkit invite within the next hour or so, drop me a note at firstname.lastname@example.org and I will get it to you. I will be monitoring email this weekend so I should be able to get back to you within a few hours. (also playing D&D on Roll20 tonight so I will check in during and after the game)
Just a reminder too that the Pre-Order shop is open - tell all your friends who missed the Kickstarter to come get some!
Have a great weekend!
Production and Backerkit Update

Hi everyone! Here's a quick update on where we're at.
This is a week of gratefulness for me, so a huge thank you to all of you who backed the project!
Nothing much to report, I heard from the dipping factory this week that they are in production, no firm ship date yet however. We've not heard form the dice company but I am not worried, we've done business with them before and they have met our expectations.
I ran into some issues configuring shipping on Backerkit related to the setup issues we had on Kickstarter. It required them to configure things a little differently on their backend for us. Everything was resolved on Tuesday and I submitted to their team for review. I just received notification that we're approved to start our "smoke test". This is where surveys will be sent to 5% of our backers (randomly selected from each pledge level). I don't expect anyone to have any trouble, but if you receive your survey, please do complete it as soon as you are able. If you do run into any issues, please let me know via email (email@example.com) and I will get it figured out as quickly as possible. I will be pressing the send button on that immediately after posting this update. Yay! :)
If you do not receive your survey, fear not! Once we get some responses from our test recipients I will be able to send it to the rest of you. I expect that to happen this weekend. Note that we have limited inventory on some items so please complete your surveys as soon as you can.
Thank you all for your patience and in advance for completing your surveys!
Just a quick note on shipping rates. All orders shipped to US backers will be free as part of our stretch goal. Backers in other countries will pay shipping based on the actual cost of shipping by the weight of the entire order, less a $5 discount (also part of the stretch goal). You won't see the discount separately, it's built into the price.
With regards to available add-ons, we're keeping it somewhat simple. We've got extra fireball jars of course, and the discounted healing potion jars from the stretch goal. You'll be able to order either full sets of 7 fire dice or a limited number of individual dice. My thinking on that was that there are a bunch of other popular fire-damage spells the jar can be used for. I'll be posting a chart of what dice they use and how many at the various levels later tonight. For example, my Tiefling Warlock is fond of casting Hellish Rebuke at second level on the first monster that hits him every day, that uses 3d10. (If you have the spell it can add up to way more dice too...)
We also have some velvet dice bags from our last campaign with your choice of a gold or black interior. They were initially designed for people to store their healing potion jars when not in use, but we also found they make great compact dice bags. You can fit seven sets of dice in them while still closing the bag up with the drawstring. As an extra thank you, these are available at 20% off our normal price.
Lastly, for those of you who were not able to back the project on Kickstarter, our pre-order store will be open right after I post this.
You'll be able to get the Kickstarter pricing on single fireball jars, and they will come with all 14 d6 fire dice! This is a better deal than what will be on our website once they are in stock. To be fair to our Kickstarter Backers, you won't be able to buy the discounted sets, and you won't be able to get the extra discount on the healing potion jars from the stretch goal. If you place an order, fulfillment will happen immediately after we send out the Kickstarter rewards.
Thank you again, and we're really looking forward to getting these out to you!
Quick update on progress

Hello to all of our awesome backers and followers of the project!
I wanted to post a quick update just so you know where we are as of today.
Kickstarter has finished processing payments and we've received the money (minus their fees). Yay! Thank you all for that!
The dice have been ordered and a downpayment made to secure manufacturing. We are waiting for them to confirm receipt of the wire transfer and provide us with estimated timing from the factory for manufacturing to be complete.
The blank jars have been purchased (we did this with our own funds to speed things along), they have arrived at the factory where the flame coating will be applied. I am waiting for them to send me an invoice so I can pay them to get started. There was one issue where they estimated pricing based on a smaller jar size (despite my being pretty specific and the fact that they did a sample for us) so they have bumped their price up as a result. It stings a little, but is not a crazy amount and doesn't have any impact on fulfillment.
They estimated 7-10 days for manufacturing and are trying to find the best way to ship to us. The holiday season and COVID induced demand for some products has apparently made it more difficult for them to secure shipping (these have to come by boat) but I am confident it will get handled.
I have BackerKit approximately 95% setup and ready to go. There was some question regarding how to handle shipping due to the stretch goal we reached (free US shipping and discounted elsewhere). I received an answer from Backerkit's support team on how best to handle that just a short while ago. (They are great to work with btw!) To finish this up, I need to get accurate shipping amounts by weight for Europe and all other countries set up in the system (less the $5 discount). I expect to have that done tomorrow morning.
If you paid for overpaid for shipping it will show up as a credit in Backerkit you can use for add-ons. If there's any money leftover, we can do partial refunds through Kickstarter.
To get surveys out, the process is to send our account to Backerkit for testing, this takes about a day. Once everything looks good, we do what they call a "smoke test" where surveys are sent to a small batch of backers. This lets us find any issues we didn't catch and correct them before large numbers of backers have completed surveys. They suggest allowing about 3 days for those to filter through, then surveys get sent to everyone else. So bottom line, it's going to be another few days or maybe early next week before you all get your surveys/logins to Backerkit.
If you didn't get in on the Kickstarter we will have a pre-order store available via Backerkit. I will post the link here
Huge thanks for everyone who has backed the project! We're looking forward to getting these completed and starting fulfillment. If you have any questions or comments don't hesitate to reach out either here or via email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
